Last Saturday, the 31st edition of the Goya awards took place in Madrid; a unique night which premiered not only the best of Spanish cinema, but also the most impressive looks on the red carpet.
The gala has, over the years, developed into one of the best exhibitions of Spanish fashion, where the next trends can be found, and where the entire country gets inspiration from as far as party looks are concerned. Talking of trends, the clear winner this year was the colour white. We can’t deny that it became the protagonist of the evening, as we saw it shine upon the red carpet worn by actresses such as Marta Nieto, Juana Acosta, Maria León and Michelle Jenner, who all wore diverse styles of dresses but with one thing in common; the colour white.
“That evening, a common pact was made and everyone gave a “yes, that’s what I want” to a world of universality, liberalism and optimism.” -Vogue-
One of the most applauded styles of the evening has to have gone to Marta Nieto, who chose to wear a simple, straight dress with long, florally decorated sleeves. As far as her accessories go, she opted for a rigid, pearl effect clutch bag, mirroring the same tones as the flowers on her dress, and short heeled Pura Lopez sandals, as her comfort was fundamental that evening. The sandals, worn in charol nude, belong to the Spring/Summer 2017 collection. Characterised by the red leather interior and the fine straps, which wrap the silhouette of the instep, these sandals with their 6cm heel are the perfect ally for everlasting nights, such as this particular occasion.
